Dance Yourself Dizzy
at Minstead every Thursday
Our newest class night has now been open
for almost 6 months, it has proved very popular and developed its
own regular following, as well as continuing to attract dancers from
across the region, currently averaging around 70 - 80 jivers at this
cracking jewel of a venue.
Entry will be £7, but is currently fixed
at £5. But keep your eyes peeled for vouchers given out at other DYD
class nights and freestyles that will get you in even cheaper at
Minstead, and also for our freestyle reminder texts that also may
get you in cheaper to Minstead classes too! So come and join us to
dance the night away every Thursday with DYD at Minstead!
Situated within the New Forest, Minstead
Hall has a long history of holding Modern Jive events. With it's
large dancefloor, great atmosphere, licensed bar and plenty of
parking, right outside, it makes for a cracking venue. Although
within the New Forest, Minstead is easily accessible as it is less
than a mile from the A31 at the end of the M27.

Winchester Guildhall Refurbishment
Over the last 6 months, if you have come
along to any of our classes or freestyles at Winchester Guildhall,
you may have noticed that building work has been ongoing in and
around the building. This is because Winchester Guildhall is being
refurbished.
The main hall where we hold our Tuesday
night classes is no exception. Work will begin on refurbishing the
main hall from week commencing 26th July and is expected to take 2
months to complete.
Dance Yourself Dizzy will continue to
operate every Tuesday throughout the refurbishment, in the second
hall at Winchester Guildhall - located across the corridor from the
main hall (the same room as used in our 2 hall events) with Danny
Dj-ing as normal after the classes have finished. There will also be
a second dancefloor in the bar area, with DJ Kevin 'Fruitbat'
playing all your favourite latin, swing & blues tracks. This will
begin on Tuesday 27th July, then every week until 21st September. We
should be back in the main hall from Tuesday 28th September.
Refurbishment of the main hall at
Winchester Guildhall includes removing most of the carpet - so there
should be a little bit more dancefloor to use, particularly at the
front by the stage. Also a state of the art air ventilation system
is going to be installed - so it may be a little cooler too
hopefully! Original Victorian features of the hall that have been
boxed in since the 1920's are due to be revealed as well.
So do not adjust your set! Service
continues as normal throughout the refurbishment, in the second hall
and in the bar area of the Guildhall. With these two rooms to dance
in, we should be able to accomodate the same numbers of people who
would normally dance in just the main hall. We hope you bear with us
during this period and look forward to seeing you in the King
Charles Hall whilst the work is being completed. Please feel free as
always, to approach me with any comments or questions.

normal on 20th July
